"Chung King" logo T-shirt (WHITE)
£19.99 / Sold Out
Chung King - the legendary Chinese Restaurant located in the heart of 1980's Soho, New York. "Legendary", not so much for it's reputation as a fine dining establishment, but the moniker itself, which was adopted by Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin, and given as the name for the recording studios situated above it in Varick Street - Chung King's House of Metal.
These studios became second homes for many Hip Hop artists during the late '80s and early '90s, with classic records by the likes of Nas, Lord Finesse, 3rd Bass, L.L. Cool J, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Brand Nubian, Stetsasonic, Leaders Of The New School, KMD, The Beatnuts, O.C., Kurious Jorge, Da King & I, Ol Dirty Bastard, Royal Flush, Method Man, etc, being recorded there.
In paying homage to the golden era of rap and the place this iconic location holds within it's history I have carefully rendered the graphics from the original restaurant fascia - now available to order here as a limited run of t-shirts.
Double-swipe red screen print on front side of white Gildan "Ultra Cotton" T (100% preshrunk Jersey Cotton. 195-205g/m²).
